Please read below for changes that will be in effect as of 01/01/2024.
AGE CALCULATION
Effective January 1, 2024, EYSA has modified how it calculates a player’s age for division placement. A player’s EYSA age will now be determined by calculating their age as of January 1st of each year, regardless of when their birthday is in a given year. For example, all players born in 2017 will be considered to be 6 years old in 2024 regardless of the month and day of their birth.
Players who turn 15 years old during a program will not be eligible to participate in that program.
Players who turn 3 years old during a program will be eligible to participate in that program upon their 3rd birthday.
Any 6-year-old who wants to “play up” must attend assessment day. 4- and 5-year-olds are not eligible to play up.
The following chart shows a player’s “EYSA age” based on his/her year of birth for 2024 and 2025.
- ASSESSMENTS ARE NOW MANDATORY FOR EVERY PROGRAM.
- EYSA will be offering two assessment days for each program. The assessment days will be listed on our website on each program’s page. Participants must attend one. Players who do not attend assessments will not be eligible to participate in that season’s program.
- SHORTER REGISTRATION PERIODS, NO LATE REGISTRATIONS
- Registration periods for programs will be significantly shorter in order to ensure that we’re able to order jerseys and equipment in time to start the season. Registration periods will be approximately 3 weeks long and there will no longer be a late registration period.
- EALIER REGISTRATION PERIODS FOR COACHES AND ASSISTANTS.
- Registration periods for coaches will open about a month before player registration opens. Coaches will select their practice schedules based upon their day of sign up. To get a more-desirable practice slot, coaches are encouraged to sign up early.
- REFUND POLICY CHANGE
- Parents may request a refund until the close of registration. No refunds will be issued after registration closes.
